Clubs

Here at Dye Dreams we have been busy with clubs - sock clubs.

We are preparing to launch the first installment of our sock club, Four Seasons Sock Club.  The designer for our first sock club offering is the talented Anne Hanson of Knitspot.  We are excited about the pattern that Anne has cooked up for us.

Go ahead and check out the Four Seasons Sock Club.  There are still a few slots left so full year registration has been extended to the end of February. You can also purchase seasons individually.

We have also been working with Donna and Valerie at yarn4socks.  We have dyed the yarn and designed the pattern for the February installment of their sock club.

Both clubs are using bright, cheery colors - a nice contrast to the dark, gray days of winter.

Welcome

Welcome to the Dye Dreams blog, companion to the Dye Dreams website and Ravelry group.

Dye Dreams is many things - a friendship, a dyeing business, an experiment, a journey. With this blog we intend to add one more element to the mix.

Dye Dreams arose from the collaboration between two fiber friends, Stephanie and Mona. We met in 2005 when a weekly knit night was started at the local Starbucks and have regularly knit together since then. We would also occasionally get together for dye "play dates" that invariably led to discussion about how fun it would be to do this as a business.

In 2007 we had the opportunity to open up our "shop" and made our debut vending at the New England Textile Arts SPA weekend in Freeport, Maine. Since that first event, we have been vendors at Connecticut Sheep, Wool and Fiber Festival; Maine Fiber Frolic; Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival and Stitches East.

Our goal is to inspire fiber artists to use a variety of fiber blends while having fun with luscious color palettes. New for 2009 is the Four Seasons Sock Club. We have teamed up with knitwear designers to offer creative, seasonally inspired socks.

Stay tuned to this blog. You will see behind the scenes as we test knit new yarns, play with fun colors and experiment with design elements and knitting techniques.
